I saw this message on a church sign a few weeks ago and snapped a picture of it. At the time I planned to use it in a post but did not really know for what or how. It seems the time has come.
Just this week Laken was practicing her driving when three cars were coming toward us in their lane & the middle one pulled out into our lane in a no passing zone. Laken was very scared as she just seemed to freeze not knowing what she should do. As I said slow down & get off to the side of the road as much as you can the on coming car got around the car it was passing and got back into its lane. Laken was shaking & upset as she questioned why they would do that. I explained sometimes people are in such a hurry they do not think before acting. I told her even when you drive safely you must always be looking out for what other drivers may be doing and think what the best thing would be for you to do. I also told her that is why we must always be prepared for eternity at all times since we will surely find ourselves in one place or the other some day & which one would you want to spend eternity in. The good Lord was watching over us and the other drivers & their passengers that day. Praise God he was. It all happened so fast. As it has been said in a blink of the eye. If the maker recalls us today where will we spend eternity? " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." St. John 3:16. Something to think about.
My you all have a safe & blessed Labor Day weekend.
Blessings Til Next Time!

Oh...true words...I'm so glad that God protected you this day :) :) :) My father and I always witness really silly drivers. The other day we were driving to the grocery store...and saw a red Ferrarie who was about to make a right turn...and completely over the line...by half a car..and we saw this brown car coming from the other direction. If the brown car hadn't stopped when it did...the Ferrari driver would have caused an accident. Needless to say, Mr. Ferrari-Driver was out of line and speeding to boot. Mostly, I notice drivers talking on their cellphones while driving and not paying attention to how wide they swing out when they make turns. My dad and I came really close to being hit a couple of times because of situations like that. In any case, so glad that God had His hand of protection over you that day. Have an awesome Labor Day weekend!!! Love John 3:16...what a great verse :) :) :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
ReplyDeleteOh Thank god you were both o.k.! So scary, i've been here a few times myself. All this cell phone use while driving, it's crazy. We even had a guy in our area arrested for working on his laptop while driving! Can you imagine? How crazy is this? Nothing is that important that it jeopardizes the lives of others. Sorry I could go on awhile about this. I am very grateful you both are o.k. The sign says it all.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jill
