Welcome to the homestead! My friends call me Lara (Layer-a). My family is my life. On your visits to the homestead you will hear about my children & all our creatures that roam about the homestead grounds & gardens. The homestead gazebo is surrounded by the gardens with blooms from spring til fall. The cabin in my header is my dream home. Blessings til next time! Lara
I used to do cross stitch! I enjoyed it a lot, but haven't done any in years! I would suggest just completing the part of the pattern that's in the hoop area, and then moving the hoop to finish where you ran out of room. Is the piece large enough to do that?
ReplyDeleteMy fabric was not long enough. I purchased another piece to get started again. Thank you.
DeleteMorning Lara, good for you, that is wonderful. I am trying rug hooking but not to good yet.....Good Luck, Francine.
ReplyDeleteRug hooking is another project I'd like to venture into. The saying practice makes perfect is for us. No giving up. Thank you.
DeleteHi Lara,
ReplyDeleteI'm an avid cross stitcher and have been for years but I can also admit I "run out of room" on a lot of my stitchery. Just make it your own and change the pattern to fit. I find that stitching while watching tv is very relaxing for me and some days, it's the only thing that keeps me sane.
Hugs,
Donna
Thank you. Your suggestion to change the pattern has already entered my mind. But for my first project not being experienced I purchased a longer piece of fabric. Later if I get more experienced I'll embark pattern changes. Thank you.
DeleteHi Lara,I too have been cross stitching (still a newbie) and find it very relaxing.I agree with Donna just make it your own.Have fun.Hugs,Jen
ReplyDeleteI am having fun watching the design come to life on my new piece of larger fabric. I will be stopping by. Hope to see your cross stitch project and read any tips bits of tips. Thank you.
DeleteGood for you, Lara! Starting something new is a big challenge but you're doing great! I am trying to learn quilting!

ReplyDeleteThank you. I have discovered my vision is not what it used to be. But I am enjoying stitching except for running out of room on my fabric.Chuckle

ReplyDeleteLaura, your cross stitching is lovely, I have just recently finished a few projects but they have been difficult. I am using reading glasses and an ott lamp, but still having trouble. The smallest aida cloth I have used is 16 count.I don't know if I can ever stitch on linen or osanburg. hugs, Lecia
