Welcome to the homestead! My friends call me Lara (Layer-a). My family is my life. On your visits to the homestead you will hear about my children & all our creatures that roam about the homestead grounds & gardens. The homestead gazebo is surrounded by the gardens with blooms from spring til fall. The cabin in my header is my dream home. Blessings til next time! Lara
I am the wrong person to ask. I am voting for white because I am going lighter in my house. But I think the brown looks more primitive. I do think painting it white is more of a contrast; the brown kind of blends in with the wall. I am sure I am no help at all LOL
ReplyDeleteBrown on brown is more relaxing on the eyes. I would dry brush over the brown with your favorite color, deep red, gray blue or black, then pick up touches of this color in the decor you place on the top mantel. Love the black clock, I would add some red to the black tins, maybe some primitive vintage advertising. Connie
ReplyDeleteAlso, tuck in small stitchery's, they will soften the brown and add texture. Always do what you like, it will then be perfect.
ReplyDeleteI vote for the antique white! It brightens things up, and your options for accenting are endless!
ReplyDeleteI vote for the antique white but if it is to bright for you, then maybe you could do a brown glaze over the white. Can't wait to see what you decide.Valentine's Day Blessings,Jen
ReplyDeleteMorning Lara, I like the white better, kinda lightens the room up, Hugs Francine.
ReplyDeleteI like the brown on brown! But then again, I am not a white-paint person. The brown seems more restful for a bedroom... And with your added touches it will be a warm and relaxing place! Good luck... There seems to be quite a split between your commenters!
ReplyDeleteI prefer brown on brown, it blends better, but then again I too am not a white person, I have always been into the drab paint palette. I like Conies idea of adding small stitcheries to the area. But at the end of the day it is what your happy with :)
ReplyDeleteI am a brown person BUT I like Jennifer's idea to put a brown glaze over the white.
ReplyDeleteI like the antique white! I think that the brown blends in too much. I like the pop of the white.
ReplyDeleteI like them both, but the antique white makes the details show more clearly. I can;t wait to see which one you decide on. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWhite, definitely :)
