Around 5:15 A.M. today I woke to the sound of the phone ringing. As I woke the fear hit. No one calls this early unless something is wrong. I made my way to The kitchen feeling sicker with each step as my heart was racing. School was cancelled but my mind was questioning why. I turned the porch light on and got my answer quickly. I had no idea snow was coming our way but here it was once again. All was covered in a blanket of white. I opened the window and door to take these pictures. After sending a quick email off I snuggled back under the quilts. After having the ceiling fan blades painted and the fireplace basket painted I gave some thought to lightening up some other items. Now I think that looks much better. I am still into my drab colors but just wanted more touches of white here and there. As for the blog changes I mentioned I have decided to keep the cabin in my header. So I was worried over nothing after all. It is quite beautiful and just a dream. Blessings Til Next Time! Lara

  3. Lara, I am with you. My heart has gone into my throat several times with late/early morning calls, usually nothing good comes of them...sigh... Most of the snow missed us, for once! I love the cabin in your header! I am dreaming right along with you! OLM

  4. Oh my.... I'm sure that phone call really scared you.... Glad it was just a school closing. Snow was in the forecast for us here, too, but we got lucky today and didn't have any... Your pics of the snow, however, are very pretty and peaceful-looking....
Love the changes you made to your room... it looks great!

  5. I'm so glad it was just school closing! I'm sure that phone ringing was scary! We expected that phone call today too, but it never came. Too many false alarms this year already, and they weren't going to close unless it was really, really bad! Worked out ok, though. Isn't it a great feeling to get things finished? I enjoy seeing your projects!

  7. Beautiful snow pictures! I'm behind on your posts and read the one that you were making changes before I read this one. Glad you decided to keep it like it is. Anyone that has been following you for awhile should know all of that anyway. It's your blog and if someone doesn't like it, then don't worry about them.

I like your added touches of white, it doesn't stand out a lot but just enough to where they are not all blended together. The pretty pops of red flowers look great!

  9. Hi Girlie, I feel you....white SNOW that S word. We are sick of it too. We can't wait for Spring to be here.
I was telling my husband that I think the snow will still be here in April and that is my birthday month! He said it will be gone by then, I hope.

I LOVE the whites touches and the red flowers look amazing. I also LOVE the cheese boxes I see on top. You sure do have the touch for decorating!
Hugs my friend...oh I got your email I will be emailing you back sometime today!
    Big Hugs,
    Tricia

  12. Agreed--it is your blog, and the cabin is your dream. And using fictitious names is wise, especially with children. No one could doubt the truth of your posts, Lara. They are so from your heart, and straight to ours. I hope you're getting the sunshine that is finally reaching us today. I think it's time for winter to leave!
