Kitchen Entrance

This is the entrance to the homestead kitchen. I have been wanting a change. I believe it is about to happen. I had a chair by the door for Hubby to remove his boots after taking care of the outside animals. However the chair just became a catch all for coats, hats, dog treat bags and tools. I did remove all that before the photo shoot. It was just too bad. I figured the chair must go. Quick switch a roo. Moved the chair and garbage can cabinet. I really liked the garbage can cabinet and shelf where I keep crocks of sweet potatoes, white potatoes and onions painted black but the black paint is so hard to keep clean. Dust just seems to cling to black. Dust and I just cant get along. The paint will be coming out soon. Decided the chair will have to go altogether.

Surprise Surprise More Rocks

Boy was I ever surprised and happy when Hubby and our boys said they would get rocks for the garden today. This is what they brought home for me. Hubby thinks this will be plenty to finish out the rock beds. I say I will need more. He dose not know the vision I have in my head. I mentioned redoing the door to the kitchen closet today. I got an idea out of the Country Sampler Home Edition magazine to recover it. He told me I needed to stop looking at magazines. If he only knew of ideas I have gotten from the blogs I follow.

Shopping Trip And Garden Talk

Got to get out today. Hubby stopped at a yard sale and I got this great crock. Picked up some fabric remnants. Finished up a doll bonnet. Got a Magnolia tree to add to the garden. With my sons wonderful muscles it is already planted. Most of the blooms came off while traveling home. Some paint for an upcoming project and batteries for the garden lights. My grandmother gave me an off spring of her lilac bush many years ago. As I have said before life happens and the goats ate in to the ground at one time. This is the first time it has ever bloomed. This garden has been a gift from God for me. God has blessed me with many off spring plants from family or friends. I LOVE things with a story behind them. The garden has been in the making since 1995 and my sons have started another extention to it this year. Were on the look out for rocks! Some of those even have a story behind them.

Another day In The Garden

Thought I would share a few photos of the blooms in the rock beds with you today. I did not have the heart to pluck this yellow weed from the base of the old oak tree. It just looked so bright and happy. If it had been in the yard I would not have thought twice about plucking it. On the table today were doll legs and bonetts. There was such a beautiful sunset tonight. Have a nice weekend!

Creating In The Garden

I am creating another doll today in the gazebo. She will be a remake of the Emma doll. You can get a look at her and the other finished doll at my picture trail album. Just click on my picture trail online photo album button to the right in my sidebar. The sounds of the birds chattering and the pond fountain are relaxing. The green leaves are opening on the weeping fountain trees. More flowers are sproting up from the soil. The goldfish are very active. The cats are out and about in the garden. It is such a beautiful day in the garden!

New Look For The Stove

I have called this my stove the Cinderella stove since I got it. I spend so much time cleaning it after cooking on it. I never get to go to the ball either. Life happens and there is a nick out of the glaze and a scratch on the top. So I got a primitive dough board with side handles made to cover the top. I would like to hide the frig in a cabinet next. Lots of flowers are poping up in the rock garden and the fish are swimming around the garden pond. Smaller dolls are on the creating table in the gazebo at this time.

New Do At The Homestead

I got these wonderful wood pieces from Firecrackerkid. The Rolling pin/Dough Bowl Keep and Primitive Farmhouse Dough Bowl Rack are beautiful and well made. Had them hung today. I like the new look much better above the piano. I will have to shop for more bowls soon! I just love these pieces.
