To & Fro

Running to & fro like a chicken with my head cut off last night. I will spare you of that photo.

Hunting, gathering & pressing Lucas & Sams leaves in old catalogs for their school leaf collection. Time is running out & we have the weather to beat. They must be perfect leaves for a good grade.

No time for cooking tonight so pizza it is.

More red jewels to be picked.

Sweet iced tea to be made.

Fuzzy peaches to be peeled & sliced. A little dish sliced with brown sugar & cinnamon a treat for me. My reward for all the peeling.

The kitchen has been cleaned & my apron hung for the night. I sure hope so.

The laundry is next. Off I go to gather the washed & dried towels to be folded & put away. So many things to do to keep me on my toes.

Quickly I had to see how the runners would look with the coverlet.

A little crafting & blogging. I must fit something in to keep may sanity & where I can find encouragement from my blog friends. Some new ideas to.

Some reading in the chapter of Psalms to feed my mind and soul. Or I will surely wither away in spirit. So much to give thanks for.

Off my tired feet went to tuck Sam in for bed and get ready for bed myself.

Blessings Til Next Time!

  4. Wow...you sure were a busy bee!!!! I felt like a chicken with my head cut off this past week too. I don't have anywhere near the amount of work that you do...but all the time spent away from home...tires me out...and when I get home, I'm not usually in the mood to do anything except rest!!

That pizza hut pizza looked really tasty with that soda pop!!! Yummy!!!

Oh, you know what, I have this obsession with learning how to make proper sweet tea. We have "sweet tea" here in the NW but I think any southerner would call it "unsweetened". What's your recipe? Would you share it? The photo you posted of the sweet tea looked really good!!!!

Oh, I bought the most recent issue of Paula Deen's cooking magazine...and there's a whole section on canning fruits, making jams etc...it looked really interesting!!! One of these days I'll try it, but not real soon!!

Have a great Labor Day weekend!!!! I loved the photos of your day...and to see what you've been up to :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

  5. Heather;
I purchased these wide mouth pint jars this past spring thinking they would be perfect to make iced tea in. I thought it would be great to have old looking jars with lids to take out to the gazebo. Having lids helps keep bugs from getting in our drinks and spoiling the cook outs.
At first all my family thought it was stupid. But they all like it now. They even ask did you make tea if they see the empty green pan in the frig. My oldest son wants a set of jars for his own home now.
Fill each jar with hot tap water. Add 3 tsps. of sugar. Stir & add a tea bag to each jar. Add a jar flat & ring to each jar. Let cool then remove the tea bags & put in frig. Enjoy from there.
